When configuring the firewall with LANconfig, various objects can be defined that are used in the firewall rules. This means that frequently used definitions (such as a particular action) do not need to be re-entered for every rule. Instead they can be stored once at a central location.
Note: Please note that a change to firewall objects affects all of the
firewall rules that use this object. For this reason, all firewall rules
that also use these objects are displayed when you make changes to firewall
objects.
Note: Existing firewalls (in the % notation) are not automatically converted
to the object-orientated form when the configuration is opened in LANconfig.
The LANCOM KnowledgeBase contains the pre-defined firewall settings used
by the new objects.
